Bybit Introduces 'Send Money' to Simplify Global Transfers
Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has unveiled Send Money, a new payment solution aimed at enhancing global transfers for its users. According to the company's announcement on PRNewswire, Send Money enables users to send funds with the speed and efficiency powered by blockchain technology, while recipients receive money in their local fiat currency.
What Does 'Send Money' Offer?
Bybit's Send Money uses crypto rails in the background, maintaining a fiat-forward user experience. The feature supports rapid money transfers that typically complete within minutes to a few hours. Currently, Send Money supports USD and ARS (Argentine peso) transfers for eligible users in Argentina. Users can send fiat and crypto across supported networks, with zero transaction fees for ARS and competitive rates for USD remittances.
According to Bybit, recipients receive the full amount with ARS transfers, and USD remittances are supported at low cost. Funds arrive in users' Bybit Funding Accounts, enabling further spending or withdrawals for supported currencies. For ARS recipients, there's the option to pay using QR codes at participating merchants or to withdraw ARS to local bank accounts.
Sophie Chen, Head of Marketing, Payment Business Unit at Bybit, said: "We believe financial technology should work for everyone, not just enthusiasts. In many scenarios, remittance and payments remain unnecessarily complex, expensive, and slow for millions of people worldwide. Send Money essentially moves crypto and fiat assets on-chain with instant finality, without compromising on traditional currency familiarity."
Bridging Crypto and Traditional Finance
Bybit positions Send Money as a way to address gaps in the global remittance experience. By providing a fiat-forward interface with blockchain-powered transfers happening in the background, Bybit says the product is designed to make these services accessible to a mainstream audience, not just crypto enthusiasts.
Practical Steps for Users
Using Send Money consists of four steps: entering recipient details in Bybit Pay, specifying the amount in supported fiat or crypto, reviewing complete pricing before confirmation, and having recipients pay or withdraw funds in ARS via QR codes in Bybit Pay at merchants or to local bank accounts (for Argentina).
Stocks365 Take
At Stocks365, we believe Bybit's Send Money launch is notable for expanding the practical utility of crypto exchanges beyond trading. With zero-fee ARS transfers and competitively priced USD remittances, the service could provide a more accessible, cost-effective cross-border payments solution for eligible users. Traders should watch for volume signals and any future expansion of supported currencies, as greater use could drive both platform growth and underlying network utility. On-chain activity and adoption metrics are worth monitoring over the coming months.
